Main Street Passes 9 Bills Through House

H.R. 1073, the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Rep. Paul Cook’s (R-CA) co-sponsorship of the legislation. H.R. 1073 secures critical infrastructure against electromagnetic threats.

H.R. 3144, the Partners for Aviation Security Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Rep. John Katko’s (R-NY) co-sponsorship of the legislation. H.R. 3144 increases homeland security. It requires consultation with the Aviation Security Advisory Committee regarding modifications to the prohibited item list. H.R. 3144 also requires a report on the Transportation Security Oversight Board.

H.R. 1338, the Dignified Interment of Our Veterans Act, passed the House unanimously yesterday thanks to the 20 Main Street members who co-sponsored the bill. H.R. 1338 requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to conduct a study on matters relating to the burial of unclaimed remains of veterans in national cemeteries.

H.R. 1384, the Honoring America’s Guard-Reserve Retirees Act, passed the House unanimously yesterday thanks to the 18 Main Street members who co-sponsored the bill. H.R. 1384 recognizes the service in the reserve components of certain persons by honoring them with veteran status.

S. 599, the Improving Access to Emergency Psychiatric Care Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV)’s co-sponsorship of the bill. S. 599 extends and expands the Medicaid emergency psychiatric demonstration project.

S. 799, the Protecting Our Infants Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Susan Collins (R-ME)’s co-sponsorship of the bill. S. 799 addresses problems related to prenatal opioid use.

H.R. 2583, the Federal Communications Commission Process Reform Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR)’s sponsorship of the bill and Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s (R-IL) co-sponsorship of the bill. H.R. 2583 provides for greater transparency and efficiency in the procedures followed by the FCC.

H.R. 1317 passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to Rep. Steve Stivers’s (R-OH) co-sponsorship of the bill. H.R. 1317 specifies how clearing requirements apply to certain affiliate transactions.

H.R. 1478, the Policyholder Protection Act, passed the House by voice vote yesterday thanks to the 5 Main Street members who co-sponsored the bill. H.R. 1478 provides for notice to and input by state insurance commissioners when requiring an insurance company to serve as a source of financial strength, or when the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation places a lien against an insurance company’s assets.
