Congresswoman Judy Biggert (R-IL)

A lifelong Illinois resident, U.S. Representative Judy Biggert combines a wealth of experience as a legislator, lawyer, and community leader to serve the residents of Illinois’ 13th Congressional District.  Before her election to Congress in 1998, she served in the Illinois House of Representatives, was the School Board President of Hinsdale Township High School District 86, and was chairman or president of a half dozen other civic and charitable organizations.

After graduating from Stanford University, Biggert earned her J.D. (law review) from Northwestern University, where she met her husband Rody.  She later clerked for a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals and then ran a private law practice while raising her four children.  She began her legislative career in 1992, serving three terms in the Illinois House of Representatives.

Congresswoman Biggert is currently serving her seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives.  She is a member of three committees – Financial Services, Education & the Workforce, and Science, Space & Technology.  She serves as Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity and previously served as the lead Republican of three other Financial Services Subcommittees.

Noted for her ability to reach across party lines, she has successfully championed legislation to promote economic growth, provide greater educational opportunities for homeless children, and advance U.S. competiveness in areas ranging from supercomputing to alternative energy technologies.   Voted by her peers as one of the ten most bi-partisan Republican members of the House, Judy also is co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Homelessness, the Research and Development Caucus, the Congressional Missing, Exploited and Runaway Children’s Caucus, and several others.

Congressman Robert Dold (R-IL)

Robert Dold is a third-generation resident of the 10th District of Illinois. After high school, Bob continued a family tradition and earned a BA from Denison University. His educational credentials include a law degree from Indiana University, where he was selected by his classmates to give the commencement address and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Bob ran Rose Pest Solutions, a small business founded in 1860, the oldest pest management company in the United States. Rose Pest Solutions is headquartered in Northfield, IL, and serves families and businesses throughout the 10th District and beyond. As a small business owner and operator, Bob has faced many of the challenges confronting business leaders who struggle to remain competitive and successful, and he understands the pressures on families to work hard and save money for the future in an uncertain economy.

Bob gathered extensive and diverse experience both as a small business owner, and in Washington, DC, where he worked on campaign finance reform during his tenure as an investigative counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee.

In Congress, Bob is focused on bipartisan solutions for creating jobs, protecting the environment, keeping the homeland secure and ending human rights injustices around the world.  As the first Member of the Freshman Class to pass a bill, Bob has stayed true to his commitment to provide independent leadership for a stronger economy.

Today Bob lives on the North Shore, just a few blocks away from his childhood home, his church, and the public schools he attended. Bob and his wife Danielle are the proud parents of three children – Harper, Bobby, and Honor.
